This program is tailored to cover the application of scientific principles on three major branches of science – biomechanics, physiology and interdisciplinary approaches. Offering expert scientific backup for top sport training and performance, the sports and science area also exercises science that has a core role in physical programs focused at improving general health. This program focuses on a broad multidisciplinary study of sport and exercise science, you will be introduced to the sports concepts and practices, principles of coaching, health and wellness, and various games in sports as well as developing your knowledge and understanding of how scientific methods can be used to examine sport and exercise activities in subjects such as anatomy and physiology, sports psychology, sport biomechanics as well as motor learning and development. Furthermore you will be expose to topics such as sports management, maintenance of sport facilities, sports injuries, legal and ethical issues in sports, and sports nutrition.
WHAT IS SPORTS SCIENCE?
Sports science is a discipline that studies how the healthy human body works during exercise, and how sport and physical activity promote health and performance from cellular to whole body perspectives. The study of sports science traditionally incorporates areas of physiology (exercise physiology), psychology (sport psychology), anatomy, biomechanics, biochemistry and biokinetics.
