Computer Systems and Networking forms part of the technological field which requires the application of scientific and engineering knowledge and methods combined with technical skills to support the computer technology, both hardware and software as well as computer communications and networking incorporating Local Area Networks (LANs), Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs) together with network management (CISCO certification).

Network security is protection of the access to files and directories in a computer network against hacking, misuse and unauthorized changes to the system. An example of network security is an anti virus system. Network security involves the authorization of access to data in a network, which is controlled by the network administrator. Network security technology improves and evolves over time as the methods for both attack and defense grow more sophisticated.
