Biology Course Overview
Biology is the scientific study of the natural processes of living things, which include animals, plants, micro-organisms and the environment.
A general course in this field covers various biological aspects from human to marine, molecular to social, as well as reproductive biology. You will also investigate the evolution of human beings and other species, exploring how life has adapted to survive on Earth for millions of years.
What will you study?
The curriculum focuses on the technicalities of biochemistry, cellular and tissue structures, physiology, ecology, and so on. Practical work will carry as much weight as theoretical studies and may include learning natural science illustration techniques, fieldwork (sample collection, scientific observation methods etc) and research-based laboratory work.
Some universities offer combinations such as environmental biology (studying the world's environmental, food and population problems) or biology with conservation and biodiversity, etc.
